The Tiger Forex Report – Week of 05/19 – 05/23/2025

The DXY is looking a bit Bearish again, and a test of support is likely this week.

Crude Oil is in a range trade, and more trading between the $58 to $62 a barrel levels is expected.

30yr T-Bond Yields are likely to press support, and this may give the USD a bit of strength this week.

EURUSD Weekly Outlook:

This FX pair is trying to round out a short-term bottom and regain the longer-term uptrend. A rally up to challenge the upside target #1 is on the menu for the EURUSD. UTL #2 is the extended upside objective. The Bears are expected to have a tough go at it this week. Only a failure from last week’s low would negate this outlook. Trading below here rips the rug out from the market and should have the Bears testing DTL #1 fast. DTL #2 should be the extreme for any strong turn to support.

GBPUSD Weekly Outlook:

There was a Sell signal that was triggered last week. However, the Bulls may bust this signal up. Sustained trading above the Entry level will have the market in a grind up to the Stop level. If this area is breached it is just a hair away from the UTL #1. Do not fight a rally above this area in the GBPUSD. Trading above here would be an indication that the Bulls are going to chase new highs up towards the UTL #2. However, should the Bears hold a trade below the Entry level, then the market has a good chance at heading toward the Target level that is in the downside correction zone.

USDCHF Weekly Outlook:

USDCHF traders may have to deal with the Bears early in the week as the market flirts with a fresh leg lower. Sustained trading below the upside correction band keeps this market on edge as it works on regaining the longer-term downtrend. Downside target level #1 is the sell off objective. If the Bulls can challenge last week’s high, then all bets are off for the Bears. Bullish strength should then pierce the upside target level and challenge the critical resistance band. This should be the extreme for a rally this week. Overall, the trend is a Bear and should remain so.

USDJPY Weekly Outlook:

The Bears are working the downside, and the monthly directional pivot level should be in play this week. Trading below here is expected to build as the market regains long-term downside momentum. Be careful not to fade this slide unless you get a valid signal. Bearish pressure could drive the USDJPY through support hard this week. DTL #1 is a valid target over the next couple of weeks. Only a sustained trade above the monthly directional pivot level should put the Bears on hold. Trading above this area targets the upside correction band.

AUDUSD Weekly Outlook:

This week may be a boring trade in the AUDUSD. Range trade conditions are likely to hold in the critical resistance band. Use this area for directional bias. A rally above this area could press the UTL #1, but this is about all that is likely. UTL #2 is the extended target. Below this area the Bears target DTL #1. Only a close below this level confirms fresh weakness. The downside Sell signal target zone then will be back in play.

NZDUSD Weekly Outlook:

A ho hum trade is on the menu for the NZDUSD. Most likely it will be range bound and it would be wise to wait for a signal. If the Bears get a hold of this FX pair the critical support band will be where the market is looking to trend toward. The Bulls are not likely to muster up much this week, but a rally above last week’s high could touch off fresh buying. Should this occur, it will most likely be a rally that fails unless Yields retreat this week.

USDCAD Weekly Outlook:

The Bulls tried to get a move going last week, but it fizzled. Use last week’s high for directional bias. Trading below here keeps the market in a sideways trade back to the downside target level #1. This is a key support area. A failure from here would be a negative sign that the USDCAD is set to pound support and keep trending toward the DTL #2. Should the market get above last week’s high fresh buying could touch off fresh momentum to the upside. Should this situation develop, the market is likely to set a new trend up toward the upside correction band.
