Thursday Update - February 25, 2021
We had a nice options trade in HD earlier this week. You can see how hard it is going to be for some of the equities that performed so well over the last year to continue higher as their growth may slow a bit as the economy re-opens and all the optimism is already built into their share prices. HD and LOW both delivered pretty amazing results, but the market is never too concerned with how you did last year, and is always concerned about your future expectations.
DIS has continued to trade nicely, making new all-time highs each of the last 3 days. DIS still has room to run to the upside as the economy opens back up and their parks and movie theater business resumes some form of normalcy in a post-covid world.
UBER has retraced a bit as their food delivery business may take a hit in the near-term future as we spend less time at home, but you just have to look at the chart of LYFT to see the acceleration that their ride sharing business should see in the near future.
CRM will be out with their earnings tonight.
WMT continues to struggle - keep your stop in place in this equity, if it gets hit then we'll sell as planned.
Yields are higher again today with the 10-year now yielding almost 1.45%. Gold is down $20 at $1,778.
Weekly jobless claims came in at 730,000 vs an expectation of 845,000.
