The S&P is trading higher on the open following President Trump signing an executive order this weekend to extend $400 additional unemployment benefits, a payroll tax holiday, an extension of the federal moratorium on evictions, and a deferment of student loan payments through 2020. The legality of the President using an executive order to wrestle away the power of the purse from congress is questionable, but the prospects of Congress challenging the President to overturn the stimulus doesn't seem likely any time soon.

We have a strong start to our long-term portfolio. Disney is up almost 10% from our entry, Uber is up about 4% and STZ is down about 5%. All of these positions are long term investments and could take months or even multiple years to see substantial profits and increased share prices.

Canopy Growth is out with their numbers this morning and they are trading higher. STZ has not reacted at all to that movement. Constellation owns 38.6% of Canopy Growth's issued and outstanding common shares. It still has the power to lift that much higher, as it continues to hold a large portfolio of warrants. If all warrants were exercised, Constellation would own about 55.8% of Canopy Growth.

Retail sales for the month of July are due Friday morning.
