Markets are choppy today after the SPY traded to all time highs yesterday on lighter volume. We get the Non-farm payrolls number tomorrow at 8:30am ET, and the ADP private payrolls Wednesday showed a bit of a slow down. Combined with a decrease in the job openings number from Tuesday, the market is pricing in that there just may be enough of a slow down in the economy to allow the Fed to let up a bit and get one or two cuts in by the end of the year. Markets have started the week trading higher as we await important earnings from NVDA on Wednesday. WE had some Fed speak this morning with the usual rhetoric out there that we may need to keep rates higher for longer, and that we may be in a higher range for the longer term resembling the 90's and 2000's much more so than the recent low rates that we all became accustomed to. Disney Traded lower on earnings this week. We are adding the 2nd half of our position at this entry price. Only add to the position if you actually allocated half of what you would normally spend on our first entry. Disney has traded back to its trend line. We are going to put our stop at $88.97. The Fed comes out with their decision at 2pm ET today, with a press conference to follow at 2:30pm ET. Markets look dicey at these levels, as we all adjust to the idea of rates are higher for longer. One of the most remarkable aspects of this market is how well Gold has held up even as rates have pushed higher and the dollar has strengthened. The Yen is at some of the weakest levels the market has seen in 35 years, and looks like it has no ability to strengthen against the dollar, even with Japan trying to intervene....

Tesla got quite a pop this week on their earnings, as we gave back our gains, but I still like the short, and we got a nice entry allowing us to hold for now. Keep your stop in place, but the pop in the stock is all about the story told, and has nothing to do with the actual metrics, and the reason for our short is that I think the metrics have finally caught up with TSLA and the story is no longer enough to propel the equity higher.
