The Tiger Forex Report – Week of 01/26 – 01/30/2025

The DXY had the rug ripped out last week, and more Bearish pressure is on the table for this week’s FED week.

Crude Oil is swinging all over the place. More choppy trading is expected with a Bearish bias.

30yr T-Bond Bulls might have the edge since it is FED week. If the market can get above the upside target level, then the Bulls should get a big surge.

EURUSD Weekly Outlook:

What a Bullish explosion last week. The short-term wave III target level is very reachable this week as Yields ease back. A buy break posture is the call with the action leaning to the upside. Last Friday the market closed above the post FED meeting target so be careful trying to sell into this Bullish momentum. It may be hazardous to your bottom line. Only a close below last week’s upside target level would reverse the positive higher move high expectations. However, this would place this FX pair back into a very indecisive trading area. If there is a pull back into this area there will be an update. Be mindful of the FED week that is post Davos. It may be a dead trade for most of the time until after the end of the meeting on Wednesday. We shall see. Be patient and get ready for some very good upside rallies to ride in the weeks to come.

GBPUSD Weekly Outlook:

GBPUSD Bulls are on a mission to press newer move highs into the week ahead. FED meeting or not there is momentum in the Bulls favor. There may be a digestive phase until after the FED meeting is complete on Wednesday afternoon. Pick your points and remember that this marketl is in a Bullish posture that seems bent on making higher move highs into the week ahead. Volatility is high so big swings are expected. Take advantage of pull backs if you are looking to increase your odds to the upside. Only a close below 1.3400 would negate the Bullish outlook. Should this develop there will be an update to figure out how the Bears could gain control this week. Unless there is an Interest Rate “Hike” this scenerio is highly unlikely.

USDCHF Weekly Outlook:

What a Bearish slide in motion. Be careful trying to fade this breaking market. Downside momentum is not showing signs of letting up. More pressure is on the menu, and rallies are likely to be selling opportunities. Be mindful of this is you are going to try and buy into this trend. Doing so is ill advised this week unless you are prepared for a disappointing week. Only a close above the upside resistance band would shift this negative forecast to neutral as this FX pair grapples with direction and chops up small swing day traders. Try not to fall into that mix. If you have patience, it may be a good decision to wait until after the FED meeting, and then jump in and look to ride some swings. Afterall, there will not be another chance of an Interest Rate move again until the middle of March. Get ready for some swinging.

USDJPY Weekly Outlook:

Friday the Bears left the USDJPY market on edge in a big way. With a close below the downside support band it is very likely that the Bears will try and press newer move lows more in the week ahead. Unless you have a very solid Buy signal it would be probably a very poor move to fight this market. A shift in trend dynamics may be ready to occur. We are not trying to call a “Top,” but this market looks to have set a short-term high that may hold for a few months. With Yields looking to soften and Crude Oil in a Bear trend the fundamentals are shouting Sell. It would take a close above Friday’s high to reverse the negative bias this week, and that is very unlikely.

AUDUSD Weekly Outlook:

AUDUSD traders launched this market into orbit last week. The rally screamed above the upside breakout level and never looked back. A run for newer move highs is the call for the week ahead. It should be very easy for the Bulls to hit the upside target level. Use caution in this area. There is heavy resistance expected at these higher levels. If there is a turn in direction the downside support band should be able to hold this currency afloat. Should there be a close under this area there will be an update to figure out how to manage a swing into this lower region so soon.

NZDUSD Weekly Outlook:

A very explosive breakout to the upside is in motion in the NZDUSD and there is more expected this week. It is possible, if the DXY gets hit hard, that the Bulls could press the market all the way to the upside target level. This should put the breaks on the surge higher for a bit since a profit taking slide is overdue. Not much is on the list for downside action this week, and it may turn into a dead trade until after the FED meeting. If there is a correction the Bears should find the floor in the downside support band. It is expected that this area will hold firm and set the foundation for another surge to higher levels. If there is a big change in the outlook there will be an update. Remember there is the meeting and there may not be many opportunities worth taking until after Wednesday afternoon.

USDCAD Weekly Outlook:

The trend is your friend for sure with this market. USDCAD traders have much to factor in. FED meeting, tariffs, and high inflation in Canada. There should be plenty of market swings to take advantage of in the weeks to come. Just be careful until after the FED meeting. Liquidity may be feast or famine over the next few days. That does not bode well for traders. A sell rally forecast is a solid outlook to start the week, and if there is a cut there may be newer multi-week lows before we get to Friday. Just a warning. Bearish opportunities most likely have the biggest bang for the buck when it comes to reward to risk on trades for the next few trading sessions. Trying to call a bottom under these conditions could prove very costly. Besides being something that nobody should ever try to do. Trade the action this week, and stay away from the reaction trades.
