The Tiger Forex Report – Week of 01/06 – 01/10/2025

Happy New Year everyone! The DXY is flirting with the upside target level. An early challenge of this area is expected this week.

Crude Oil is making a play to the upside in front of inauguration day. A run up in prices is likely before the Big Bear starts to come out of hibernation early this year.

30yr T-Bond Bears are looking to test support to start the first full week of 2025. Yields are likely to remain firm into the Unemployment number on Friday.

EURUSD Weekly Outlook:

Is this the week that the EURUSD Bulls can muster up a corrective rally? Good question. A short-term spike into resistance is the early call. It should be viewed as a profit taking move. Watch Yields. They are holding firm. It will be tough to sustain any rallies if Yields stay firm. Unemployment will be big this week so be mindful of a choppy trade after Unemployment Claims on Thursday. The downside breakout level is the key to direction. A sustained trade above here could help to spark a Bullish move. The short-term directional pivot level is about as high as this market is likely to reach.

If the market can fall below last week’s low the Bears should continue to slam support toward 1.0164. Look out for a spike. Yields are stretched. If they turn… this market could have a catapult rally to profit off. Not much more is expected. If there is an extreme sell off there will be an update.

GBPUSD Weekly Outlook:

The GBPUSD bounced off the donwside breakout level. Will there be a retest? Early in the week it is likely that the market will be looking to search for higher ground. Our monthly directional pivot level is the objective. As long as Yields stay firm it will be a tough fight for the Bulls. If the market gets a close above here the rally could reach the upside breakout level over the next couple of weeks.

A failure from last week’s low would be a good indication that the market is set to slam support some more. The critical downside correction area is the extreme for a follow through break. It would take a strong rally in Yields to help pile drive this currrency through much more support than this area.

USDCHF Weekly Outlook:

This is a currency that is pressing the extremes with resistance. Be careful. A short-term high may be in place. Use last week’s high for directional bias. Trading below here will have the Bears set to take profits. It has been a good run. The downside breakout level is the objective for a correction over the next couple of weeks. That should be it unless Yields really unwind.

A rally above last weeks high is a good indication that the Bullish strength is still looking to press newer move highs. Be careful riding the Bull this week. A spike high is very likely especially with the Unemployment number. Remember we are not trying to pick a top… just be ready for a correction.

USDJPY Weekly Outlook:

Are you ready for a move in the USDJPY? Keep waiting. The critical resistance band is the ceiling holding this Bull at bay. Watch Yields. If they take a dip this market should fall back on support fast. That does not mean much. Back to the range trade and choppy conditions. We need to wait for a valid signal for the Bears.

A close above the critical resistance band would be a good indication that the market is set to lift higher move highs. Don’t think that his could not happen. Even if Yields retreat. Crude Oil is in short-term Bull mode until the transfer of power in the Executive Branch. Get ready for some swings.

AUDUSD Weekly Outlook:

AUDUSD Bears are sticking to their guns, and momentum is on their side. The market is floating below the upside breakout level. This is a key area. If the market can get a close above here there is a good chance that the Bulls will get a profit taking rally going. If Yields soften this week, then there is a good chance that this could manifest. It could take a couple of weeks, but the upside correction zone can be reached.

Watch to see if the market falls below last week’s low. If it does that would be a sign that the Bears are going to keep pressing newer move lows. The long-term Bearish target is a viable objective, although it may take a week or two to get there.

NZDUSD Weekly Outlook:

NZDUSD traders are watching this market fall like a rock. The downside target level is the area to shoot for. This trend is in pulverizing mode. As long as Yields are firm there is no reason to try and catch a falling knife. Wait for a valid Buy signal.

There is not much of a case for the Bulls unless there is a sharp turn in Yields. Should this occur, it will be a short-lived move. The upside correction band is about as high as the currency should get for a corrective rally.

USDCAD Weekly Outlook:

USDCAD Bulls may be running out of momentum. A digestive phase is very likely to develop over the next few weeks. There are may economic issues with Canada on the horizon. Especially with the United States. If there is a rally above the current swing high then the upside breakout level has a good chance of being reached.

If Yields taker a turn the Bears may get a nice breaking market in motion. The downside correction band is the objective. If there will be a bounce then this should be where it happens. With only a ½% rate cut expected out of the FED this year. It may be hard to get a solid sell off… let alone a strong Bearish trend.
